In part 3 we are going to the Oscars. For the third part of CGI for photographers, we show the beginning stages of what's truly possible. Building a full 3D studio that you can work in with unlimited possibilities. That's right, an unreal replica of the famous photo studio from the 2019 Oscars concept from Mark Seliger. This is an homage to his work and is in no way affiliated with him, just an example of what you can do when you don't have the budget or means to build yourself an Oscars studio.

Every 3D project begins with a model, the scaffolding, the foundation of the build. Here Geoff Devries, the modeler of the room, walks us through his thought process in building out the Oscar inspired room.

Dustin does a final, prerender review of the model, its overlaid materials, and the lighting over the entire 3D model. Once he has inspected everything, made final adjustments, he renders the whole image to get it ready for post-processing in Photoshop.
For the final phase of the project, Dustin imports the Oscar room into Photoshop to do the final touches on the project. Here we sharpen, dodge and burn, brighten, and do basic retouching on the final rendered image.
